HISTORY
College Place Methodist Church was “born” on July 1962, after McKendree UMC on Norwich Street voted to relocate to a new location at Altama Avenue in Brunswick, Georgia. Services began at a building on the site on October 14 of that year.

College Place broke ground for a portion of its current facility on February 10, 1963. By mid-August, services began — led by the Reverend Sam Rogers.

In the 60-plus years since, College Place has expanded to hold a congregation of more than 750, at one time, and has added classrooms, a Christian Life Center meeting facility (2003), an expanded Youth Activity Building, a front parking lot, a digital sign to visually reach out to the surrounding community and most recently a Veteran’s Memorial Park.
