What: The Cavalry Youth Group

When: 10 to 10:50 a.m. every Sunday, and Wednesday evenings during the school year. Periodic activities such as camping, fishing, and beach days, as well as service projects such as building handicap ramps and assisting during Vacation Bible School.

Where: Cavalry classroom

Ages: Rising 6th graders through high school seniors.

Teachers:

  • Arthur Sanders: Arthur is a CPMC member who has raised two children in the church and has been an active volunteer in kids' ministries for 15 years. Arthur has participated in many youth mission trips and has taught the youth Sunday School for three years. "Our philosophy is that God is good all the time," Arthur says. "The name Cavalry came from former youth director Donnie Nunn, who modeled it after the exclamation 'Here Comes the Cavalry.' I think it's very fitting in a fallen world that the youth are the next wave coming to speak the good news."

What’s a typical session like on Sunday:

"We are very fluid. If there is a specific need a student has, we will dig into that or we mainly study and discuss the verses the preacher is using for the day so we can understand the sermon better and have a common topic to discuss with the parents," Arthur says.

What’s a typical Wed. evening Bible Study like:

"There is enough school work so we just play games and have fun on Wednesdays."
