Kidz Christmas Party 2025

The Children's Ministry celebrated Christmas together in mid-December before taking a break for the holidays. Stay tuned for information about opportunities in the new year.

More about kids' activities at College Place:

What: CPMC offers three wonderful ongoing opportunities for children to learn more about Jesus: Kidz Church, Sunday School and Bible Studies.

When: Kidz Church is held during the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. services.

  • Sunday School occurs between services at 10 a.m., when the adults also attend class.

  • Bible Studies are announced during the school year and are held on Wednesday evenings.

Where: Kidz Place classroom inside the main church building

Ages: Elementary School ages 5-11

Teachers: Children's Ministries Director Tori Sanchez recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Special Education, fulfilling a dream she has had since second grade — to become a teacher. For the past five years, Tori has been a part of the College Place community, which she says has been a meaningful and supportive part of her journey.

Tori is passionate about helping children grow, learn, and thrive, and is excited to make a difference in the classroom and spread the Good News.

Volunteer teachers Beth Cain and Cheri Glass, who guided children’s ministries for three years before Tori came aboard in November 2024, continue to help out on Sundays. They are joined by regular volunteers Ginnie Bates, Deana Davis, Stephanie Fullard, Tim Holcomb, Jackie Mobley, Laren Moreno, LuAnne Nelson, Peggy Rogers, Katie Weis, Sadie Weis, and Ciera Womack.

Curriculum: On Sundays, our current theme is “Jesus is Epic,” and we’re using a curriculum that talks about all the EPIC teachings in the Bible, from the fruits of the Spirit to the 10 Commandments to the Armor of God. We learn about the gifts we are given as children of God and how to apply those skills in everyday life.

Our Kidz Church typically lasts about an hour (during the sermon). Each lesson includes Bible reading and scripture-based teaching, along with hands-on activities or crafts that help reinforce the message. It’s a great mix of learning, discussion, and fun that helps the kids really connect with who Jesus is and why His life matters today. Our Sunday School lessons follow the same theme as Kidz Church lessons.

On Wednesday evenings, we have another opportunity for the kids to grow and learn in the Lord. We have a wonderful Children's Choir led by Kathryn Webster from 5:30-6:30 p.m. followed by a Bible study from 6-7 p.m.  that differs slightly from our Sunday sessions.

Each week includes a memory verse, a scripture-based lesson, and a fun activity or game to help keep the kids engaged and make the lesson stick. It’s a great midweek opportunity for the kids to grow in their understanding of the Bible and enjoy learning in a relaxed and interactive environment.
